Efforts in regards to BIM Standardization continues with the introduction of New Platform Options

As is well-known BIM in terms of innovation has been able to cross the chasm and also the design teams have been able to adopt this as an approach. Building owners, contractors, and developers are now becoming aware of various benefits of BIM and now requiring BIM-based workflow. Now the question is no more, whether it is making sense to do building projects either through BIM or the traditional approach.

There are two approaches to implementing BIM:

• Building Information Modelling: During the designing phase, it is required to build an Intelligent Building model for streamlining the architectural design workflow, which can be done by generating various drawings, quality takeoffs, rendering, etc automatically.
  Building Information Management: It is a means to share any design data in a reusable, digital form with various stakeholders of any building project.

It is been researched and stated that standardization is essential. As is well known that the primary goal of BIM is sharing information and it cannot be happening without a defined agreement about data classification and data formats.

Numerous vendors are developing platforms for making sure that they can back the BIM projects. There are a large number of platform initiatives from different small and large vendors and such a trend shall remain strong in the BIM/CAD industry even in 2020.
