The first step initiated while drawing the custom design is meeting the customer. Below are strategies to ensure that it goes on well:

  1. Focus: It is important to have the cell phones off to concentrate on what your client has to say. The customer may not be great at explanation so it is always suggested to pick up a pencil and sketch or maybe use a computer so draw the client idea. Start getting images from places to show your level of understanding to the client.
  2. Keep Notes: You may also choose to have a note pad handy for keeping the requests of the clients organized. Ensure that you have been able to note all the important details like due dates, shape, style, etc.
  3. Go for the details: Once after CAD design has been created it is always suggested to look into the detailing before actually putting the design into the production phase.
  4. Expectations of the client: It is not possible to build an exact match of what client expects from you and thus it is important to keep the client in a loop to avoid last-minute changes or complete change in designs.
  5. Meetings with CAD Operators: CAD operators are generally visual people. They would always ask for a proper picture and defined description of the product. The long paragraphs would not do much justice and thus it is better to have some important bullet points in place like Due Date, Dimensions, Special requirements & Pictures or website from which designs can be picked.
  6. Photos: It is always suggested to provide as many pictures as possible. A rough sketch would also do in case you aren’t an artist as they may work better than writing a paragraph to explain the same. Drawing sample always in avoiding challenges.
  7. Expectations from CAD operator: It is important to know from him when he will be able to get the piece ready. Also, make necessary arrangements to deliver it the client in time to avoid last-minute problems from their end. It is also important to know about the estimated price so that it may be communicated to the client beforehand. As these CAD operators are almost busy all the time it is always better to give them as many pictures as possible to make their work simpler.
